Fisher, William Jesse "Bill" - Sacramento  
William Jesse Fisher passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2016. Bill was born on March 9, 1942 in Nevada City to Charles and Verna Fisher. Bill grew up in Grass Valley and Sacramento. He worked for several years at McClellan AFB before earning his bachelor's degree and teaching credential at CSUS. He taught and coached for 26 years and returned to Nevada City upon retirement. Bill loved all outdoor activities and was a fan of the 49ers and Giants but his passions were golf and karaoke. His parents and brother Dick preceded him in death. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Elizabeth, his 5 children Vicky, Mary (Roger), Julie (Frank), Susie (John) Patrick (Summer), brother Charles, sisters Grace, Virginia and Barbara and 12 grandchildren, nine great-grand-children and numerous cousins, nieces & nephews and his loyal companion Chance. Bill was a lover of life and of people. He is deeply loved and will be missed. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 18, 3-5 PM at the Nevada County Country Club, 1040 E. Main St., Grass Valley.

Fitzgerald, Joanne - West Sacramento  
Joanne Fitzgerald was born in Park View, New Mexico, to Luis and Eliria Cantu. Joanne entered into eternal rest on May 14, 2016, in Sacramento, at the age of 78. Her beloved husband of 44 years, Kenny Fitzgerald, was there with a big smile and open arms to welcome her home. Joanne was a devoted mother to Kenni-Marie Fitzgerald (Christopher) and Darci Haesche (David). She was delighted to be Caroline's grandma, who affectionately called her Grandma Jo Jo. Joanne is survived by her loving sisters Edna McDougal (Bob); Viola Duncan; Emilie Cantu; Sylvia Powers (John); and Marie Cantu. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends, whom she loved dearly. Joanne was preceded in death by her brothers Robert and Jose Maria Cantu and her sister Thelma Cesario. She retired from the Legislative Counsel Bureau with 25 years of public service. She was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Grace and Holy Cross parishes. Joanne was loyal, strong, and always there when needed. She was an excellent cook (who made a mean enchilada casserole), loved to entertain, enjoyed traveling in retirement, and was generous beyond measure. Joanne will be missed by all those who loved her. We thank the wonderful caregivers in "Our House" (Carlton Plaza) and Darlene McAfee for all their loving care. Visitation hours will be Sunday, May 22, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Vigil services at 6:00 p.m., all at River Cities Funeral Chapel, 910 Soule St., West Sacramento, 95691. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, 911 Park Blvd., West Sacramento, 95691; burial immediately following at St. Mary's Cemetery, 6700 21st Ave., Sacramento, 95820. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Fletcher, Richard W. - Yreka  
Richard W. Fletcher passed away on May 9th in Redding Ca. Richard was 67 years old. He was a Vietnam era veteran serving his tour of duty in Korea, he obtain the rank of Sergeant in ground power on the flight lines. Richard was a Electronic Tech. in his early years working for N.C.R and Campbell soup. He later became a Logger, General contractor, long haul truck driver, commercial fisherman and finishing his career as owner of Richards lawn care. Richard was proud of being part of the first graduating class of Rio Americano in 1967. Rick is survived by a brother in northern Montana. He will be buried with military honors at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery on May 31 at 11 a.m. No service will be conducted He will be missed.

Foeppel, Sarah Anne (Watson) - Sacramento  
Passed away on May 10, 2016 at the age of 72 in Elverta, CA. She was born on June 9, 1944 in Casper Wyoming. Sarah worked for the county of Sacramento. She loved working in the garden, spending time with family and friends and looking at old cars. Survived by Daughter, Michelle Wickell (Foeppel) and Jonathan Wickell (spouse), their two boys Ryley Griggs and Jonathan H. Wickell, Son, Sean Foeppel, Siblings Rebecca Belau and Larry Belau (spouse), their two children David Belau and Sarah McKay (Belau) Dogs ShinYu and Cody and Cats Yuki and Bella. Predeceased by: Parents Jack Watson and Frances Watson, Spouse William Foeppel (Divorced), brother, Thomas Watson. Service held on May 22nd @ 2pm Email for info foeppelm@hotmail.com. Frisk, LaVerne Grace (Koob) - Sacramento  
LaVerne passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of April 17, 2016 at the age of 99. Born July 12, 1916 in Chicago, IL to Felix and Della (Neuhaus) Koob. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 37 years and WWII veteran, Philip; granddaughter, Dee Dee Byers; daughter-in-law, Judy; son, Edward; son-in-law, John Caruso; daughter, Judy Riepe; grandson, Chris Byers; brother, Philip; and daughter, Susan Caruso. She is survived by her son-in-law, Howard Riepe; grandchildren, Rick (Linda) Byers; Jeff (Crystal) Byers; Barbie (Mark) Crabtree; Patty (John) DeLong; Jennifer (Matt) Stone; Deborah Caruso (Chris Carr); great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Byers (Mike Boris); Amy Byers; Jackie (David) Mortensen; Jessica Pliler; Angela DeLong; Carly Byers (Julz Cuffman); Megan DeLong; Zach Byers; Tyler Crabtree; and many close family and friends. While caring for her family, she worked as a registered beautician, local business owner, and in a movie reel factory. She and her husband were lifelong supporters of the Morton Grove American Legion and in 1957, she served as President of the Auxiliary. In 1988, she moved with her family to Elk Grove, CA, where she enjoyed walking to the Senior Center to play Bingo and Bunco, doing crossword puzzles, sewing, teaching herself to play the keyboard, and babysitting her grandchildren. LaVerne was a dear friend to many, having touched their lives with her caring nature, gentle spirit, and kind heart. "Grandma Libby," as she was lovingly known, will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family and strong faith in the Lord. A cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, LaVerne's life will be celebrated by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held May 21, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Light of the Valley Church, 9270 Bruceville Road, Elk Grove, CA 95758. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 134 in Morton Grove, IL. She will be interred with her husband at a later date at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Skokie, IL.
