PETERSEN, Beverley Jean
Carr
Beverley Jean Carr Petersen crossed the threshold on July 22, 2013 at the age of 79. Bev was born March 19, 1934 in Alameda, Calif., the second daughter of the two children born to Dorthy Jean Hughes (Carr) and Arthur DeBeau Carr. Bev was one year old when her family came to live in the Sacramento area, where she's resided since. Bev graduated from San Juan High in 1952, one year behind her sister, Shirley. Shortly after that she was married to Tom Hampton for 7 years, by whom she had two sons, Steve and Stan.
Beverley worked for several years as a clerical worker at McClellan AFB. In 1960 Beverley fell in love with and married Eddie Petersen, to whom was born a third son, Craig. In mid-life, Bev returned to school (ARC) and found a whole new self in the arts. Beverley was an avid camper, writer and artist. She lived most of her life in Carmichael, where she and husband Eddie were active in the Elk's Lodge.
Beverley leaves behind her three sons and loving husband, Eddie. Also missing her are her granddaughters, Katie and Kristina, Heather, Brittany, and Grace, her great-grandson, Faylen, niece, Jackie, nephews, Jeff and Spencer, and brother-in-law, Richard.
Beverley suffered heart failure. Her passing was peaceful. She goes to join her parents and her dear sister, Shirley.
