Kenneth Later Obituary

LATER, Kenneth Kyle
Born September 11, 1984 in Logan, Utah. Having served the Lord faithfully in this life, Ken was taken from us suddenly on October 19, 2008 to serve his Father in Heaven in the Eternities. He was a shining example of good and loved by all who knew him, and will be remembered, loved and missed always. Ken was self employed in the building trade and his creative work with tile and construction can be found throughout the Sacramento area. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he was a loved and trusted leader of the young single adults in the Vintage Park area. Ken was preparing to serve a mission for the church in the near future. Ken is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Angela and Mark Jerome; father and stepmother, Timothy and Colleen Later; sisters, Anessa Almandariz, Kelsi Jerome, Elisa Massey, Jocilyn and Leilani Jerome; brothers, Zachary and Joshua Jerome; grandparents, DeLar and Diana Cheney, Bud and Colleen Later, and Loree Jerome; four nephews, three nieces, and may aunts, uncles, and cousins. A "mission farewell" service will be held on Friday October 24, 2008 at 11:00am at the Stake Center, 8925 Vintage Park Drive, Elk Grove, CA. Interment immediately following at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ken Later Memorial Fund through the Golden 1 Credit Union on Elk Grove-Florin Road. Family and friends are welcome for visitation Thursday October 23, 2008 from 12:00-8:00pm at the Elk Grove Funeral Chapel, 9101 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove, CA 916-686-1888.

Ken,
You have been such a great asset to the church. Because of your enthusiasm and love for the church, you helped make every activity memorable. You didn't care who went or what the activity was; you were always willing to go anywhere for anybody. Thank you so much for touching each and every person you come in contact with. We will always miss you. I can't wait to see you again.

To Ken’s dear family...My heart goes out to you for your loss. Ken sounds like a wonderful young man. Two years ago, our 22 year old son died in an accidental drowning, so we know the pain you are dealing with. We have an amazing support network for grieving families in our area, especially for moms. We’ve come to realize that we just can’t make it alone and we are so very thankful for the support. If you would like to have more information, or if you would just like to talk to a mom who understands, I hope you will contact me.

It has been so long since I've seen you, and at that time we used to call you Kenny. Now all grown up, and gone so quickly. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Our friend Ken.... We were fortunate enough to have met you earlier this summer. In fact, you became part of our neighborhood family while working your trade in each of our homes. We will miss you.

Our deepest condolences to Ken’s family and friends.

Jerome Family,

Zac and I wanted to let you know that you have been in our thoughts. We were so shocked and saddened to hear about Kenny. I am so glad that I got to see Kenny lastweek and enjoyed joking around and laughing with him. He was defintley headed in the right direction and was well respected by many in the church and community. I hope that you have some peace in how much he was loved and liked by everyone. When I think about him, it makes me smile because thats the first thing I think of! His "HUGE" smile!

With Love,

Townsend Family (Zac, Laura, Brentley, Madeline and Aubs)

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Ken's loving family.

We came to know Ken when our daughter joined the LDS family. The wonderful group of young adults often met in our home to visit or host the missionaries for dinner. Ken seemed to be available to help whenever he was needed and he was always polite and never had an unkind word to say ~ a true gentleman and friend.

It takes a wonderful family to raise such a loving and responsible young man. We are fortunate to have known him and are deeply saddened that his life has ended too soon.

I'm sure his loss will be felt for a long time ~ But I am also sure he is making Heavenly Father very proud.

May our thoughts and prayers be of some comfort to the family until they meet each other again ~ God Bless.
