Kim Gessford

Mrs. Huggett and family, my name is Kimberli Gessford and Larry officiated my wedding in Jerome, Idaho 24 years ago tomorrow. Reverend Huggett brought such a huge blessing to our lives and sent us letters every year on our anniversary for the past 22 years to reaffirm his blessing. I had corresponded with him for several years about our family and when I didn't receive his letter last year, realized he must have fallen ill. I was actually just on the phone with my parents who asked about Reverend Huggett and if I'd heard from him this year, it prompted me to google him and I came across his obituary. I just wanted to send you all my condolences and to let you know how fondly we remember him. He gave us a christmas tree ornament the day of our wedding of a little gold church with a jewel in the steeple. My husband and I put that ornament on the tree together every year and thank God for the blessings he has bestowed upon us, beginning that day 24 years ago when Reverend Hugget pronounced us man and wife.

Dear Mrs. Huggett and family, what a wonderful blessing to Walnut Grove Community Church to have Larry Huggett as our Pastor. I will always remember his smiling face, his love of Christ and of course his sense of humor.

This May will not be the same without our annual letter from Larry, in honor of our wedding anniversary. He presided over our wedding, my sister's wedding, and numerous other family events. Larry came to our church when I was a teenager. He and the youth leaders of Walnut Grove Presbyterian Church laid the foundation for so many of us. I know that God used Larry to reach out to so many of us.

Dear Dorothy and family,

Although we had only become acquainted with Larry when he came to the Presbyterian Church of Fair Oaks, with his open personality, it did not take long to appreciate his deep faith. What a blessing he was to us and to our family.

Barbara and I extend our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Circumstances prevented our attendance at the services yesterday. But our prayers were and will be with you.

Larry and you, Dorothy, provided personal guidance to us when it mattered the most in our lives.

May God's compassion comfort all of you.

To Mrs. Dorothy Huggett and sons Kim, Randy, Tom and Bob - Larry has meant so much to me and my family! Beginning with Thursday Nighters, all three of us boys grew to better understand, appreciate and love our Lord Jesus Christ. It was also during Thursday Nighters that our dad helped, which would lead him to deepen both his faith and service to our Lord.

And to my mom, she so thoroughly enjoyed all of you, especially the years as a secretary at FOP. Larry's faith and influence upon us all will live on - in us and in so many others whose lives he both touched and guided. We are much better people because of him.

Our love to you all,
Mark Rainey - Beaverton, Oregon
