Gloria and family: I was so sad to hear about Bob's passing. I worked with Bob for 18 years at SMUD, and we had a lot of laughs together. He was always so happy talking to me about his little "Pinga", and his New York Yankees. I wish I had kept in touch with him after I retired. Rest in peace Bob.

To My Husband Bob,
No one can comprehend the sadness in my heart….I knew you completely… others only knew you in part.
Being married to you was the most wonderful part of my life. I can hear your voice and read the love in every word you said. We shared so many smiles, felt so many tears, and seen a lot of dreams come true. A light of strength and courage shines, as always deep within us. Though no one can lift away the grief I'm going through, others want to honor all what you meant to me.

#6 in your scorecard
#1 in my HEART!

You Have My Love Forever,
Your wife Gloria “BEEBS” Alonso

Julie, Amy, Bryan and Family,
My heart aches for you all right now. I too have many memories of your dad and how he always made us laugh. Growing up being so close with Julie I was so blessed to be a part of your family.
What a great loss but find comfort in knowing this is not the end, you have a very special angel to watch over all of you and you will never be alone.
Bryan, lil Antonio will have his grandpa out there watching over him in baseball this year.
Thanks for the great memories, the laughs and for always making me feel like family. Rest in Peace Big Taco...

To the Alonso Family.....I did not know Bob, but I had the pleasure of working with his son, Bryan, many years ago. It was apparent from day one that Bryan was a stellar human being....which means that Bob and Gloria were stellar parents. Keep the memories alive....talk, share and keep each other close...and that is how you will find joy in your sorrow.

January 23, 2013

Bob, My mentor, My friend, My coach, you were such a great role model for us kids at Holy Cross.
I learned a lot from you and I had a special bond, and I felt when we shared a moment on LIVE radio when I was at KSFM 102.5 we both came to tears. It was a long time since we had talked and it was a very special moment that I will never forget. It made my heart smile that you were so proud of me and my accomplishments and we both said I LOVE YOU on the air.

Bob you were a passionate coach and always praised us when we had success. I will end with that because there is so much more I could say but know that I am thankful for the role you played in my life and I will never forget you

I was quite saddened to read about the passing of Bob. I have known him since I was a small child. My family spent many weekend's watching Bob and Alfred out at the ball field. Ramon and Adela (Nino and Nina) were like grandparents to me. I even remember babysitting Bryan, Julie and Amy when they were little. Bob was always a joker making everyone laugh. I am truly sorry for your family's loss. My parent's Manuel and Peggy Barajas also send their prayers to your family.

To my teammate and friend. The best times had in Arizona during the men's league world series. You were the life of the dugout and the spark of the team. The good Lord needed a second baseman and now He has him. There is baseball in heaven so now you play for the Angels. God Bless you Bobby.
