Catherine SHOEMAN Obituary

SHOEMAN, Catherine Marie
1/22/57 - 2/7/12
Cathy was born in Los Angeles and has lived in El Dorado Hills for the past 21 years. She had been battling stage four breast cancer since 2009 after surviving it in 1994. She fought valiantly against the disease, living life to the fullest and devoting her time to volunteering and riding horses at All About Equine Animal Rescue. She is greatly missed by her daughter Shannon; her brothers, Steve Carter, Larry Carter, and Bill Carter; her aunt, Patricia Trow; her nieces, nephews and cousins; and her many loving friends. Cathy's strong and loving personality and her great sense of humor touched and inspired the lives of all who knew her. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Cathy's life at Holy Trinity Parish in El Dorado Hills on Friday, March 9 at 11am, followed by a reception at All About Equine in El Dorado Hills. Memorial donations can be made to All About Equine Animal Rescue and Snowline Hospice.

Cathy, I still remember when you called in on live local radio and said the EDH drivers on cell phones needed "a big cup of shut up!" So funny! I will miss your sense of humor.

Shannon, your mom will be missed by so many. No matter how bad my day was going, when I looked up and saw your mom's face in the store, I would instantly feel a chuckle inside for I knew she would make my laugh. There were a lot of days I knew she didn't feel like laughing, but she would always pull the strengh and the smile from somewhere and carry on. Your mom inspired me not to take things so seriously and to step back and see the lighter side of life. I am a better person because of her and she will never be forgotten. Love you Cath, Brian

I miss you so much Ms. CARTER! haha yes I remember, it's Ms. Carter :) You were so wonderful to me all through my teen years and would drive me to Kidzone and let me tag along to your place so Shannon and I could hang out after school. I still remember when I was trying to cross the street and some crazy EDH mom almost ran me over and you yelled at her for me! You took care of everyone and cared for all you knew and your love of animals was incredible. So much of your bravery and strength is in Shannon, I could see it even when we were kids, and I am so proud of what she has accomplished. It is a true reflection of your love and guidance and I know she is going to be happy in life. I miss you and wish you peace. I love you.
