RUSHING, Bennie Charles
June 29, 1950 - April 19, 2013
Beloved husband, father and friend, Ben Rushing, passed from this world to the next on Friday April 19, 2013.
In 1994, he was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and far outlived the doctors' expectations. He was an inspiration to all who met him and knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife Marjorie and two sons, Andrew and Jonathan. He is also survived by a grandson Bryan and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bennie Lee Rushing and Patricia Rose Ferrante Rushing; and his brother Tommy Lee Rushing.
He was a member of Choctaw Nation and embraced his Native American heritage. He was active in the Sacramento First Christian Church.
Ben proudly served our country in the Army and was a Veteran
of the Vietnam War
. Following his discharge, he was a letter carrier for the USPS. He later became an Auditor- Appraiser for the State of California. He retired on disability in 1995.

A memorial service will be held May 18, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Sacramento, CA. Burial with full military honors will be held at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery near Santa Nella.
