MORRISON, Edward William Aug. 27, 1941 - Jan. 19, 2013
The youngest son of Richard and Bernice Morrison, Edward was born & raised in San Francisco, CA. In 1966 Edward noticed Claudia Cruz at a roller staking rink, and he married her the following year on Nov. 11, 1967 at Holy Name Catholic Church in San Francisco. They had 2 sons, Daniel (b. 1970) and Jason (b. 1974). Edward graduated from Sacred Heart High in San Francisco (1960); he received his Assoc. Deg. in Arts at City College of SF (1963); he earned his Bachelor Deg. of Science and majored in Business Admin. at the Univ. of SF (1974). Edward enlisted in the US Army
in 1964; he completed the Air Borne Ranger School and received his Air Borne Wings jumping from a C-130 plane above 700 ft. In 1965 he was deployed to Vietnam were he served 2 tours for his country, on the field of battle. He was honorably discharged in 1969, but his military passion was reignited in 1981 when he re-enlisted. He finally retired in 2001 after completing 20 years for the Army Reserves, and receiving numerous awards and medals for his years of service to his country. On Feb. 29, 2004, Edward retired from McClellan Commissary as Grocery Manager, after serving 19 years of faithful and devoted Federal Service. Edward is survived by his wife, Claudia, son Jason, and brother Robert (Carole). A viewing for Edward will be held Thurs., Jan. 31, 2013, 4-8pm, and a funeral service on Fri., Feb. 1 at 10am, both at East Lawn, Elk Grove, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd. Interment with full military honors at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon on Feb. 1, 2013, at 1:30pm.
