ROHDE, Finn Harald
(AKA) Baby, Dad, Pops, Sweetie, Grandpa, Papa, and Paw-Paw. Finn, with seemingly fearless determination, an iron-clad will, ever- present smile and wicked sense of humor, spent more than twelve years courageously fighting COPD/Emphysema. He gave his all in his final battle with the support of family and friends. In the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 12, 2014 with loved ones by his side, including his feline soulmate 'Pumpkin,' he peacefully passed away at the age of 74. Finn was born on September 6. 1939 in Copenhagen, Denmark. As a young child he moved with his family to escape war-torn Europe and make a fresh start in New Zealand. He and his family later moved to San Francisco and in the sixties, Finn spent several years living in Johannesburg, South Africa before returning to California. He was a printer by trade and was one of the best, working for various print shops in Sacramento before finally realizing his dream. He owned and operated Western Printing in Citrus Heights for over 20 years. Finn is predeceased by his beloved parents Harald and Lilian Rohde, an infant sister Henny, mother-in-law Ruth Jennings and brother-in-law Steve Jennings. He is survived by his adoring wife of 37 years, Alayne. He is desper- ately missed by son Chris (Lonnie), daughter Tanya (Kurtis) Yarber, and son Jason. Sisters Hjordis (Harry) Bleile, Alice (Gary) Jenkins and brother Danny (Carol) miss him terribly as do sisters-in-law Shari and Mila Jennings and brothers-in-law Phill, Jon and David (Missy) Jennings. Finn leaves behind eight delightful grandchildren who dearly love him - Jamie, Holli, Alex, IsaBelle, Abby, Lauren, Noah and Wyatte and many more family members and friends.
For those who wish to say their final goodbyes, viewing is from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014, and the celebration of his life is planned for Friday, March 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Both of the above at EAST LAWN MORTUARY,
