
Hoy Carroll Key, Age 79, of Roseville, CA, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in Roseville CA after a long, courageous battle with throat cancer. He was born on February 4, 1933 in Gainesville, TX to his parents, Walter Key and Anna Lambert. Hoy is survived by his children Sandra Key (Williams), Dr Phillip Key, Lynette Lampke (Ventuleth) Ted Daniel Lampke, Kevin Lampke, sister Lura Ann Key and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. His wife Georgia Lampke, son David John Key, Mary Jane Slusarz (mother of David, Phillip and Sandra), brothers William and Ellis and his sister Elma, preceded him in death. Raised during the Great Depression Hoy worked hard to provide a better life for his family. After serving in the United States Army from 1952 to 1955 he had a distinguished 32-year career with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) retiring as a Captain in 1988. His busy retirement included active involvement with the Sacramento Area Blue Line Association (SABLA), serving on the Placer County Grand Jury, fishing and traveling. His wry sense of humor and intellect left a lasting impression with those that knew him. He was a proud American who loved his country, friends and family. Relatives and friends are invited to a Graveside Service for Hoy at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at COLFAX CEMETERY, 180 N. Canyon Way, Colfax CA 95713.
