Krisandra Marie VINE

Kris passed away on December 27th after complications from breast cancer. She was 58 years old. Kris was born on June 1, 1955 in Decorah, Iowa. Her family moved to Oakfield, Wisconsin where she grew up. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh with a Business degree in Accounting. She earned her CPA and worked for Arthur Anderson & Co. in Milwaukee for 8 years. In 1985 she and her husband-to-be, Greg Glass moved to Sacramento, CA where she accepted the Controller position at Sutter Health. They married on December 20, 1986 in Wisconsin. Within the next six years they welcomed the birth of their daughters Rebecca in 1989 and Sarah in 1992. She earned an Executive MBA from Pepperdine University in 1996. She held the position of Vice President/Chief Contracting Officer for the Managed Care Department at Sutter Health. Family and friends described her as smart, strong, witty, compassionate, fearless, genuine, artistic and spiritual. She was an avid reader and for the past four years attended Burning Man to enjoy the atmosphere of creativity, art, adventure and music. She enjoyed traveling with her family and spending time at their second home in Truckee. She was a devoted advocate of Waldorf education, which emphasizes the heart, hand and soul, having sent Rebecca and Sarah there through high school. She is survived by husband Greg Glass, two daughters Rebecca and Sarah, parents Carl and Mavis Vine, brother Michael (Louise, Jacob and Michaela) and sisters Debra (Jonathan and Jessica) and Julie Vine. She has many extended family members in Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota. A private memorial for family and close friends will be held at her home on January 2nd.
