Martin Fjelstrom passed away on a Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in Ogden, Utah, in the care of George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home and Bristol Hospice. Martin was born in San Francisco Children's Hospital on May 26, 1943 to Melvin and Mary Fjelstrom. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961 and quickly enlisted in the Air Force. He retired from the Air Force in 1981 as a 20-year veteran. His big passion was Ham Radio, and his call handle was WA6CSL. He also liked collecting model trains and planes. Martin was a Mason member and became a part of the Scottish Rite Clunkers. He had a great joy in charity and loved helping others. He had a great sense of humor and was very patriotic. He liked westerns, action films and comedies. His favorite dessert was lemon meringue pie. Martin is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Doska Fjelstrom-Di Pasqua. He is survived by his wife, Valerie Fjelstrom; his children, Spencer and his wife, Stephanie Fjelstrom, and Christopher Fjelstrom; his brother, Lawrence Fjelstrom and wife Joan Fjelstrom; his friends Gene and Agnes Marshall, Elmer and Sandy Whelpley. Martin will be interred at Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Colma, CA. alongside his parents and sister. A Masonic Memorial will be held at the Harding Mason Lodge on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. 5944 San Juan Ave., Citrus Heights, CA.
