HAYNIE, Robert Carol
Passed away peacefully on November 4, 2013, following the effects of a massive stroke the week before. Bob was born November 23, 1925 in Belton, MO. He served in the Marine Corps. in WW II and was wounded in battle in Saipan and was awarded the purple heart
. He later re-enlisted and served in the Korean War
as well. In 1960, he moved his family to Orangevale, CA. and worked as a machinist for Aerojet, McClellan & Mather Air Force Bases. Bob loved hunting and reloading and was a Rangemaster for many years at the Rifle Club in Ione. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Ben Haynie, and Bob's oldest son, Robert Carol Haynie II. He is survived by three daughters, Brenda Perry, Joetta Haynie-Longtin, and Ruth Wells, and two sons, John Allen and James William Haynie and all of their families - altogether, five children, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard Lee and John 'Philip' Haynie and his sister, Josephine Spalding and all of their families, his ex-wife, Dorothy Haynie-Beale, and his companion of 42 years, Geraldine Verna Pescia Gallagher, whose four grandchildren & four great grandchildren also called Bob - 'Grandpa!' There will be a celebration of life with a military salute at the Fair Oaks VFW, 8990 Kruitof Way on Saturday, November 16 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Rifle Range or VFW in his memory.
