William KESLAR Obituary


KESLAR, William M. (Bill)
Passed away peacefully in Sacramento on Sept. 11, 2011, from age-related complications. Bill was born in Acme, PA on March 1, 1921. He lived in Sacramento 58 years of his last 90 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Louise (Lou); sons, Doug and wife Mary Catherine, and Dave and wife Charleen; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. During World War II, Bill served in the 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He earned the Purple Heart in the Philippines. Bill received his degree in Bio-Chemistry from Penn State University. He worked in the food processing industry for many years, including 20 years with the USDA as a Federal Food Inspector. The last years of his career he was with Bercut-Richards Packing Co. & Borden, Inc. He was a wonderful husband, father & grand- father and will be dearly missed. Graveside services on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011 at 10am at East Lawn Sierra Hills Memorial Park, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, CA.
