I still can't believe that she has passed away. When I drive up to my house I still think that she would wave and say "hi!" with her friendly and much loved smile. Every time I had talked to Baba Valya, she would always talk about her kids so happily and proud and with love. I admired her gentle and loving heart so much! It brought smiles to many people!! I love and miss you so much Baba Valya, you will always linger in my heart.

I worked with "Val" Arch at the Woodland Lucky's store in the early '80's. I was a bagger, or courtesy clerk, just starting college at Sac State. I was new in Woodland and the people at Lucky's were my first friends that I made, and Val stood out. We hit it off immediately. I really enjoyed how we worked together. All the residents who shopped at Lucky's knew and loved Val, and often requested that she and only she 'ring' them up. We were a team for a while, she would ring the customers up, and I would bag the grocies and take them out to the customers cars--Lucky's should have been very happy with how we were able to do our work so well and make their customers so happy that they would always come back. I remember how she helped me learn how to stand up for myself, and resist being exploited by the management. She was an excellent role-model and I value my friendship with her 30 years ago. I was so sad to come across her obituary in the paper the other day but so happy, also, that she had such a long life. I wish I knew her better, she seemed like someone who had lived a very interesting life.

Carol, Liz, Val,

Your mom will be deeply missed. The memories of her beautiful face, smile and happy spirit will live on. The family gatherings were the best with great fun, music, dancing..., and I am glad I was able to visit with her and family several weeks ago. With much love, Lynn (Arch) Froelick

Liz, Carol and Val,
I'm terribly sorry for your loss of your mother; may good memories of her sustain and comfort you for years to come....and enjoy the thought that she is no longer in pain and probably winning at bingo every night! I will not be able to be at her funeral but I do send my love to all, Carla N.
