Carlos Francies Obituary

Diamond Francies passed on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the age of 30. Francies will be remembered by family and friends as a loving and caring son, brother, friend, mentor and as an exceptional Deputy with the Contra Costa Sheriff's Department. Francies is survived by his parents Paris and Beverly Richardson and Glenn Francies, brother Coye Francies, and sisters Vesha Francies, Taleka Francies and Kayla Richardson and girlfriend Devina Pacis. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at 5757 Greenback Lane in Sacramento, CA. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Capital Christian Center in Rancho Cordova, CA followed by the memorial services at East Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Sacramento, CA.

Dear Beverly, this is a grief that I can't begin to understand. My sister, who lost her 17 year old son has asked her church to pray for you and your family on the loss of your beloved Diamond. Here is her note:

My sister Kathy is asking for prayers for the family of Deputy Carlos Francies who recently drowned while trying to save a friend that he thought was drowning while paddle boarding on lake Tahoe. I am sure most of you read about this. His Mother works with my sister at CalPers, and his funeral is tomorrow. His Mother is having a hard time and really needs some comforting prayers. All of her co-workers at CalPers are brokenhearted for her loss and are grieving for her as well. Please pray for family and friends. He was only 30 years old.

I can't imagine the pain you feel in the loss of Carlos. Just want you know that my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this difficult time. How courageous your son was serving, protecting and finally attempting to save a life. Not only because of an oath he took, but because of who he was; a man of honor and integrity who had a genuine desire to help others. May God continue to comfort you through it all.

I am so saddened by the loss of this incredible man who I never knew and wish I had. Thank you for everything you did for us and for your sister's friend in the ultimate sacrifice. I know we all think and wish our life's will give us a long life but I believe God is in charge and he decided Francis was needed in heaven. Francis lived a life and did so much more in a short time that has exceeded the life I have lived in 62 years and many others. God bless Francis, his family,and his friends...who are all in my prayers. What an extraordinary man...
