I believe my father Delmis C. Snider was stationed with Don. I recently acquired photos of my father in the 1950 along with a Don Foley, who would have been in his 20s. If you would like to see these photos please email me at [email protected]

To Don's Family,
I worked with Don at the Assessor's Office. He was such a sweet man....valued co-workers.... and THAT VOICE.... you just don't forget it.... beautiful! I am so very sorry for your loss. Unfortunately the card I mailed was just returned undelivered today. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I only got to meet Don once but I was surprised and pleased at how quickly it seemed like he knew me. He cared about and was interested in the people he met. He connected so quickly to other people and made them feel special. We enjoyed corresponding after that one meeting and letters from him were so much fun to read. We will miss his humor but it is a pleasure to see the legacy of his commitment to serving others living on in his sons. My life is richer because he was part of it, even for a short time.

My sympathy to Don's family. The world has lost a good man. I worked with Don for almost 10 years at the Camellia Bowl. Whenever we needed something done diplomatically, Don was the one we called upon. He will be missed.

Whether speaking or singing, Don's voice was uniquely recognizable and brought smiles to our faces as we sat in the pews of St. Rose. He was sorely missed when he moved away. We are sure the heavenly choir has been increased by one.
In prayer always,

I will always remember Don for his generous and caring nature. He was always available to assist young officers learn more about the art of survival in a rapidly changing environment within the California National Guard. Always patient he could handle any situation he was thrown into as the spokesman for the Guard during its many tough times. He knew how to break an awkward silence when a public presentation was taking place but something had happened to stop it in mid-stream...there was Don with an interesting bit of historical information or perhaps a joke to put off all the tension being felt by those who were putting on the function as well as those in attendance....worry or concern never showed on Don's face or in his voice. He was always a true professional and yet approachable by all, no matter what their rank might be. I feel blessed also to have been able to know such a real man in my lifetime...sometimes, it seems there are so few. May God continue to watch over your soul, Don, and I can imagine all the old times and the stories that you are now swapping and laughing with so many friends, family, and associates who have been looking forward to seeing you again. Thanks, Don, for being the man you were. Your memory will live on through the stories of so many who learned from you by your words and especially through your actions. May God continue to watch over your family as they face the loss of your physical presence on this plane. I look forward to seeing you again, my friend. God Bless

Don we know you are watching over so many. Those Christmas letters will be missed but Bill and I have saved them all. You were the greatest as my boss and friend and what a wonderful time that was. When Eloise came into your life you always said how lucky you were. Thank you for who you are. We will miss you but will remember you.
