June HULLIN Obituary

HULLIN, June Stangbye/Livingston
June was born February 28, 1921 in Sacramento, California. She died on October 22, 2013, a resident of Astoria Gardens in Tracy, with family, Hospice & caregivers at her bedside.

A memorial celebration of life for June, 92, will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Tracy at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 9.

June, a native of California was the youngest of eight children of Idar and Johanna Stangbye from Norway. She was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Lewis Eugene and Alvilde Livingston, at the age of 2 when her birth parents died. She attended David Lubin/Theodore Judah elementary school, Kit Carson Jr. High School, and Sacramento High School, graduating in 1938 the same year she married Albert Hullin, also of Sacramento. For the next several decades they moved every five years as the job required. June made sure each house was 'home' and generally decorated with plenty of the color blue to match her amazing blue eyes. They also accumulated over eight years of vacation time in Hawaii, owning a condo on the beach in Maui. Twenty years ago they moved to Tracy to be near their daughter and grandchildren In 2008 they celebrated their 70th Anniversary with family.

June was proud to be known as a 'house wife' and only worked several years for the State of California while her daughter went to college. She had been active in many Newcomers clubs, the Alamo Women's Club, and the Sacramento SPCA along with Al's aunt Dorothy Hullin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert, her brothers Tom Stangbye of Santa Monica and Buster Stangbye of Sacramento, and her sisters Aagot Stangbye and Nellie (Scotty) Brown of Sacramento, Isabel 'Tully' (William) Barry of San Leandro, Helen (Bob) Chardine and Lillian 'Tiny' (Raford) Peterson of Healdsburg.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan Keith a retired TUSD school teacher, her grandchildren, David Keith of Tracy, and Sheri Keith of Memuro, Japan, as well as David's wife's family, Gina, Carol Gutierrez, Bernice and Gerald Boeve and two great grandchildren, Savannah and Brandon Keith, all of Tracy and special friend Maria Larsen of Tracy.

June spent the last five years as a resident of Astoria Gardens in Tracy, and the family wishes to acknowledge the kindness and wonderful care she received from the staff and caregivers there. The family also wishes to thank Hospice of San Joaquin County for their support and care for June. Special thanks go to Dr. Mai-Ling Chiang, for all her care, her never ending kindness and support.

My mother. You lived 70 years with my father and when he died the memory of him died with you. And although you did not remember any of us, we remembered you. We miss you Mom, more than you ever know, but we know you are at rest now. Love you. Joan
