Albert Pfaff Obituary

Albert Norman Pfaff of Folsom, California quietly passed away on December 4, 2016. Al was born on January 8, 1942 in Sacramento, California to Rosalie Ellen Barrett and Albert Norman Pfaff. He graduated from Sacramento High School in 1960. Al enlisted in the Army in 1963 and served at Fort Ord, California, honorably discharged as a Specialist Four. He attended Sacramento City College in 1965 where he earned an Associate of Arts degree and California State University, Sacramento in 1969 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration and a minor in American History. Al always loved history and wanted someday to be a history teacher. But fate chose another direction for him serving our community as a police officer, promoting to detective, and retiring from the Sacramento Police Department in 1976. He then opened his own business, Attorneys Legal Service in Placerville, California in1980. While operating his business in 1986, he was approached by the Federal U.S. Marshal Service and offered a job as a Court Security Officer. He accepted the job and after serving and protecting our federal judges for over 18 years, retired in 2004. Al was a very accomplished athlete especially in baseball and golf. After high school, he was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies and offered a contract to play professional baseball but instead chose to complete his college education. Golf was his favorite game and he was a remarkably competitive player winning several championships including the Ben Hogan "Hole in one Award" at the Glen Brook Golf Club. Al met the love of his life, Jeanne in September of 1986. They had an instant connection. In fact, after meeting Al, Jeanne told her mom that she had just met the man she was going to marry. They were married in 1990 and eventually settled in Folsom, California. They traveled a lot and lived the good life making beautiful memories with each other and their family. Al had a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. He will be remembered to all who knew him for his funny quips, stories of his extraordinary experiences, and his loyalty to his family and friends. Al was preceded in death by his parents, Rosalie Ellen Barrett and Albert Norman Pfaff, his sister Judith Frost, and stepfather James Lynch. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jeanne, his step children, Jody Ann Soria (Greg), David Schwedler (Jen), and Darren Schwedler. He is also survived by his grand-daughters; Amanda, Sarah, and Brittney; and grandsons; Nickolas, and Darren Jr.; and his goddaughter Kelli Ramos (Mike). Al requested a private service. Thank you to all our friends and family for your love and support.

I know that Al is in Heaven enjoying eternal happiness. I remember Al as a very nice, kind and happy person the times I was around him. I know this is a huge loss for Jeannie and family especially since Al and Jeannie were two peas in a pod in love and always enjoying life. My thoughts and prayers are with Jeannie and family. Love you and may God Bless you with comfort and peace during this difficult time!

One word to discribe Al --FUN. He had a terrific sense of humor and was a great High School friend. Many good times playing golf, touch football, poker and American River swimming. We even won a movie contest together. Re-connecting at several reunions was a huge treat. Rest in peace buddy.

Al was my neighbor who was always sharing his sense of humor, his smile, and his kind heart. He was the original "lots of lemons guy" when ordering lunch so Al, here's to you as I raise my water glass, dear friend. You fought a good fight and I will miss you until we meet again.
