SAULOVICH, Carol Ann
Feb. 28, 1934 - Jan. 3, 2013
Carol passed away peacefully at her home in Sacramento. A fourth-generation San Franciscan, born to Louis and Florence (Johnson) Druhan, Carol attended Dudley Stone Elementary and Polytechnic High School ('51), and was the first member of her family to attend college. She was awarded a UC Berkeley Alumni Scholarship, graduated in 1956 with honors, and was a proud Cal Bear all of her life.
Carol was a teacher for 36 years in SFUSD; mainly at Lawton School, but also at Miraloma, Mark Twain and Farragut. She was a lively and memorable teacher with a special love of history and the written word. She retired in 1993 and moved to Sacramento in 2002.
Carol was predeceased by her devoted husband Peter Saulovich, and is survived by her three children, Catherine (John) Morrison, John Saulovich (Alexandra Buckner), and Anne Saulovich (Javier Rodriguez); and her four grandchildren: Benjamin and Claire Morrison, and Jackson and William Saulovich. She is also survived by her loving sister Dr. Judith Kell, as well as many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews.
Special thanks for the love and care provided over the years by Ledua (Dee) Temo, Hazel Gober, Sushma Singh, Docat Mitchell, Paulini Yacarogovina, Anna Pena, Katrina Dixon, Catherine Ellis, Ann Micklefield and Dorothy (Dee) Decker. The family is especially grateful for the wisdom and guidance of physician and friend Dr. Michael K. McCloud.
