REWERS, Chester S.
Chester S. Rewers, born on May 5, 1945 in West Warwick, Rhode Island passed away peacefully on December 26, 2012 at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, California.
A graduate of Providence College and Suffolk University Law School, he served honorably as a Captain in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Vietnam, serving as Adjutant General. After Vietnam, he moved to Bangkok, Thailand, where he worked at the law firm of Tilleke & Gibbins as a corporate, partnership, and international business transactions attorney. It was here that he met Jennifer, and they married in 1975. In 1979, he returned with his wife and son to the United States and worked as a private practice attorney in San Francisco, CA. In 1990 he moved to Sacramento to work for the U.S. Small Business Administration, Disaster Relief Division, as Attorney-Advisor, until he retired in 2006.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Loretta L'Heureux and father, Chester S. Rewers Sr. He is survived by his stepfather, Roland L'Heureux of West Warwick, R.I., wife, Jennifer, two children, Jonathan Rewers and Jessica McCabe, and grandson, Christian McCabe.
His funeral will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. with a Mass at Calvary Catholic Cemetery's Chapel located at 4101 Verner Ave., Sacramento, CA 95841 and burial at Calvary Cemetery.
