SALAS, Cynthia Bernice

1922 - 2013

Bernice Salas, 91, daughter of David Wilson and Lovie Harper Wilson, passed away June 13, 2013. Bernice was born in Malvern, Arkansas on May 22, 1922 and later moved to California. Bernice was employed for 26 years as an 'Allowance Specialist' at McClellan Air Force Base. Bernice worked very hard her whole life with farming and raising cattle. She was known as 'Nanny' to all of the family and was loved beyond measure. She loved to play her guitar, sing and was a great story teller. She was a great mother, grandmother and friend and always gave advice on whatever her children needed. She had a wonderful sense of humor and made everyone around her laugh. Bernice taught her children to work hard, enjoy life but most of all to Love God. She lost the love of her life Ted Salas after 66 years of marriage on December 5, 2012, so a great reunion is now taking place. She was a member of the Wheatland Community Church. She is survived by her son, David Gorden, Daughter, Teresa (Warren) Bostick, Sharon (Barry) Barnes, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She will be greatly missed.
