Not sure what to say?

Tony Damiani told me just now of the passing of Don. While he certainly lived a long, full, and amazing life, the news is certainly saddening. We basically knew each other from tennis at McKinley Park since the mid-60s. I definitely always enjoyed our interactions. Don was a very interesting and nice guy who will absolutely be missed. He was one of the good ones!

Dear Perez family,
It was with sadness we heard of Don's passing. He was a life-long tennis buddy of our dad, Jack Morrison. We spent many hours hanging around the McKinley courts where Don, dad, Tony and many others played every week. I remember most Don's smile and how he was always happy.
Just before dad passed, Don came to visit and they spent the afternoon laughing and chatting together. Talking tennis and enjoying each other's company. It was so kind of Don to come.
Rest peacefully Don

I met Don quite a few years ago when he came to live at my apartment complex. What a wonderful and interesting man! He gave me a beautiful conch shell he got when he was in the Philippines. I will always treasure it. What a blessing to have known him.

What a great guy. It is sad that he is no longer with us. The world would be a better place if we had just a few more men like Dionisio Perez.

Don played on many McKinley Park tennis teams with Keith Madriago,Jim Hastings, Don Durio Orvis Litke, Jess Brown Kens marks dad..He beat Gil Howard on center court of Sutter Lawn Club He taught all his children tennis and made them bear down. He was an elegant gentleman with the lady dancers and tennis players. As a child he was an altar boy at mass. He started music as a violinist and moved to the guitar. While fighting in the war he contacted malaria and suffered all his life with sweats and nightmares of the brutality of war.He played and danced like it was ballet or opera or a symphony---Tony Damiani

I met Mr. Perez several times at the Philippine Scouts Heritage Society National Annual Reunion. The most recent was at the Reunion in Las Vegas this year. Mr. Perez was always jovial and love to dance. I have not played tennis with him , but I am sure he was great with all the trophies he received. My prayers and sympathy are with his family. I met Don playing tennis 67 years ago when I was 12 and he was 31 at McKinley Park in Sacramento. We were steadfast friends from that time on. We played tennis, I learned swing dance I went to many swing dances, he became friends with my parents, .. His lifelong doubles partners were Stan Maloney, Sid Young, Emil Relat , and Ed Ishii. He won so many tennis trophies probably hundreds. He played mix doubles with m any ladies especially Mary Santos Coy. His very dearest friend was Jack Morrison. He was a legend at McKinley Park and in the Sacramento region. He knew all the top players in the Philipines. The top generals loved to play tennis with him. When the women tennis team from the Philipines were in Santa Clara -he was invited to be the team captain. He worked in the fields in Stockton upon arriving and was well known player on the Stockton courts. we went to swing dance classes at UC Davis once a week and Don would be asked to teach all of us. His rhythm and timing was impeccable on the courts and on the dance floor. Some of his closest friends were: Jack Jossi, Don Durio. He was a great admirer of Les Kuhnz...He knew every bartnder who made his salty dog drinks at the dance venues . He was a very elegant man who who loved his family and friends He adorned his Agripinas fingers with many diamonds. He was a regular at Catholic Mass and played the guitar like a pro while Aggie sang Besame Mucho or You belong to my Heart..Dont ever get into an argument with him. you will lose even if you are right. rest in Peace with the angels and saints dear Don and I know you you are playing with the cherubim with my Dad, your Dad and all your music friends. His autobiography was writtnen probably over a 100 pages in perfect scritp and sentence strucure with pictures and accurate recollections . It was an astounding accomplishment about his life A great tennis legend in this region --Don Perez
