JONES, Donald G.
Sept. 19,1922 - March 10, 2014
Don passed away at home surrounded by loving family members. The last of six siblings. Don is survived by his wife of 30 years, Flora Cameron, who will miss his monthly bouquet of roses and hundreds of his lovely poems. He was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl. He leaves two other daughters, Linda Tyrone of North Carolina and Linda (Don) Bray and son Paul (Patty) Cameron, along with many grand and great-grandchildren, plus many loving nieces and nephews.
A proud Veteran of WWII, he served in the Army and saw action in the Pacific Theater, separating from the service in 1945. He went to work at the Plumbers Union Hall as their business manager and then on to the State of California. Finally retiring as the Administrator of the County of Sacramento Crippled Children Services. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner and also a lifetime member of VFW Post #67.
There will be a graveside service Saturday 11am at St. Mary's Cemetery, 6700 21st Avenue, Sacramento, followed by a reception and lunch at Msgr. Kavanagh Community Center, 5905 Franklin Bl, Sacto
