PORTER, Eileen J.
Born to John and Christine 'Nono' Miller in Sacramento on July 23, 1926, Eileen passed away on November 28, 2012. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Chuck.
The couple played a leadership role in St. Mary's Mr. and Mrs. Club and traveled the world.
She lovingly raised their four daughters: Linda Kirrene (Tom), Vicki Sazaki (Marc), Connie Krug (Tom) and Marsha Porter. She enjoyed her nine grandchildren: Julie, Jessica, Jeremy, Gary, Joe, Charles, Dan, Tom and Christine and fifteen great-grandchildren.
As a homemaker, she sewed for her daughters and their school events while playing an active role in the Y.L.I. and Lions clubs. When her children grew up, she worked at, and retired from, the State Bureau of Unclaimed Property. She spent many happy hours completing crossword and Sudoku puzzles and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. When it came to games of chance, she enjoyed the luck of the Irish. Her girlish laughter and playful sense of humor delighted all who knew her.
Her visitation will be held on December 7 from 2 to 6 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6 p.m. a W.F. Gormley & Sons, 2015 Capitol Ave. Her funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Church 1333 58th St. on Saturday, December 8 at 10 a.m. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.
