DUBETS, Guy Michael
52 of Carmel, CA, died May 8, at his home in Sacramento. He was the proud father of John Anthony Dubets of Monterey, CA. Guy was a successful Baseball Instructor for 30 years in Sacramento and Monterey, CA. He was a coach and specialized in high level pitching instruction for major league to little league players. An accomplished, respected, and beloved coach who helped dozens of players achieve major league contracts and dozens of college scholarships; including four first round draft picks to the major leagues. In his career Guy was also a team coach at Pacific Grove High School, Hartnell College, and San Jose City College. He was a professional baseball player for three years after being drafted by the Minnesota Twins from Carmel High School. He also played collegiate baseball at Hartnell College. Guy was a master bass player who recorded songs that were played on major commercial radio stations. He recorded with platinum record producers and leaves a recording legacy of several dozen songs.
Beloved father, son, brother, best friend, coach, musician, and mentor. Preceded in death by his Father, John Dubets of Camel, CA. He is also survived by mother Ann Dubets of Carmel, CA, sister Susan Dubets Briggs, and brothers John Dubets and George Dubets.
A gathering in memory of Guy will be held at The Hard 90 baseball facility on May 27, 2011 at 6pm.
