  • "Dear Mike and Craig, and Hunter Family, So sorry to hear of..."
    - Larry Roberts

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jim Hunter. After years of battling cancer, he finally found peace on June 22, 2014 with his beloved, Carol, by his side. The youngest of seven children, Jim was born to William and Minnie Hunter, on April 26, 1926 in Roseville, California. He was so anxious to serve his country that he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944, missing his High School graduation ceremony. After years of working as an engineer for Caltrans, he and Carol retired to his "farm" in Thornton, California. He was predeceased by his first wife Gloria, as well as his second wife Zita. He is survived by his sons, Michael and Craig; his sister Vera Conrad; his brother Duane; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A private and humble man, Jim did not wish to have a service. Per his instruction, his ashes were inurned at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. Jim's kind heart and twinkling eyes will be forever missed by all those who were blessed to know him.
