Today, Pat/Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma/ Sister…died. Where are you? I looked in the sewing room, I sat in your chair, the needles were quiet, the threads were so still…sewing projects no more. I opened the door to the garden, the flowering place…the pool space I saw, where there was no more… no more chairs in a row, with a Fresca in tow, some lotion to flow, for the skin to glow… Out in the garden…the rose bush I see…from a gift long ago…saw beauty you know from your care and your glow… The kitchen so still…as your coffee cup hangs, on its hook… no coffee to fill or sacrin to sweeten… Your ash tray is empty…your chocolate treats uneaten. Your nursing cap I see, so inspiring to me thus, I sought one too, in the service of others, to help people too. I will remember your passion, your call to arms… to help other people… and to do no harm. To find joy in life’s treasures… from good dining, to seeing the world’s sights, to the hug of a child, grandchild, great grandchild and friend. Somewhere I fit in…as you provided me a space… for me in your heart…to befriend…to teach…to love. Do I know where you are? In my heart… yes, I know… where you are… where you always will stay.

We have been blessed to be "Ms. Pat's" neighbors for almost ten years. She and Laura have shown us so much kindness over the years and have spoiled our boys, not minding when they turned your yard into a football field. We will miss you and we are so grateful to you. May God bring your family and loved ones peace during this sad time.

When growing up with a circle of friends, you gain a circle of parents. Pat was in my circle and she was special – very caring. Not knowing my mother, she always asked about her and would look in on her whenever she was in the hospital. I will always remember her and her kindness. Frances Molina Stizzo

Pat was one of my mom's coolest friends. She was #3 on the speed dial. They were both bridge nuts, and shared at least a thousand meals together over the years. I'm happy to know she is now at peace and pain-free.

I was so sorry to hear of Pat's passing she was such a wonderful lady and a great nurse. I met Pat in 1967 in the LVN program at Sierra. I was the youngest that semester and Pat was such a big help and good friend. Pat came to my wedding and I worked with her at Roseville Community Hospital for many years. Pat was always so wonderful to work with. I am still at Roseville and she always gave me strength. Please except may heart felt condolences.

It is hard to squeeze all of my memories and thoughts of Pat McCrary in just a few sentences or paragraphs. But I did want to at least highlight a few of the memories I have of her. I was very fortunate to have lived my childhood years next door to Pat McCrary and her family. She was part of our neighborhood network of moms who formed a co-op with each other and shared the many mom duties. This included things like; taking turns at driving us kids to our swim lessons, the movies, and many of the school activities that we were involved with.
One of my unforgettable memories of her was when she came to my aid after I accidentally stepped on a nail sticking out of a board out in the field behind our house. She came running over to me and promptly pulled the nail out. Then she bathed my foot to cleanse it before I went to the doctor to get a tetanus shot. And this all happened before she became an RN!
Pat was always willing to help out others when they needed it. Sometimes she shared her medical expertise if they were ill. Other times it was an act of kindness, such as bringing food over to your house. This reflected her caring spirit that she had for others around her.
Our block was very special to me because of having neighbors like Pat McCrary around. Her passing is just another reminder that another wonderful person on that block is now gone.
Dennis, Carol, and Richard, as well as the rest of your families; Your mom was a very special lady to me and her memory will always live on in my heart.

Dennis and Susan, our hearts went with you as we watched you pull out of the driveway next door to go to CA this morning. Richard, Carol, Laura, Bob, Jennifer, and Sarah, we wish we could be there to give you our heartfelt sympathies in person. We do know the feelings you are going through as you remember your Mother/Sister/Grandmother knowing how much you will miss her and also knowing she is over her pain and illnesses. Just remember the long years of love and good times.
