JANSEN, Richard Bassett
Born February 6, 1947, and passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 17, 2013. Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Louise Bassett, Walter K. and Ann Jansen, and his parents Jarol and Barbara Jansen. He is survived by his devoted wife Phillis, his loving daughter Leigh Jansen, his stepchildren Scott, and Dana Oliveira, his niece Kate Jansen, and his sister Elizabeth Jansen. Richard was fourth generation Lincoln, and leaves so many other friends and family that shared and shaped his life. He loved many deeply but no one more than John, Pattie and Julie Tofft. His cousins have always unanimously and profoundly proclaimed him the funniest one at the kids table. His sense of humor was forever intact. Richard graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964, attended Cabrillo and Sierra College. He served his country in the United States Air Force spending time in Viet Nam before returning home to work in the family business with his grandfather and father. Richard loved hunting and fishing. He loved cars and car racing. He loved his family, and the place he held dearest was the family cabin at Rainbow built by his grandfather in 1935. The time he spent there and the memories he made with friends were always filled with laughter and love.
