GOIN, Robert Leon
Robert Leon Goin has gone on to heaven. He was born September 22, 1956 to Ruben and Patricia Goin. Older brother to Jeff and Steve Goin. Husband to Tracy Goin for 30 years, father to Rachel, Sarah, Rebekah, Michaelah, and Abigail. Father-in-law to Shilah Goin, grandfather to Ezekiel, Kiley, and Azariel Goin, and hero, mentor and friend to me, his firstborn and only son Kiel Goin.
My dad's life was too short but not lacking. A graduate of Casa Roble High School class of 1974, A Private First Class in the army, a Salesman, Retail Manager, Minister, and most recognizably a Barber. He was a man who after 30 minutes in his chair knew where you were from, what you did and all about your family. A man who once you left his Barber shop you considered him a friend; a man whose influence spreads across this valley. To this day I am stopped by strangers who say they know me because they once met my Dad. But that's my Dad, the man in the middle, the absolute life of every party, the laughter he gave his friends, the passion he gave his family, the love he gave my mother, these are the things I'll never let go of.
He was his mother's favorite, but don't tell my uncles. He was constantly pestering my wife just because he thought it was fun. He was Donald Duck when his nieces, nephews, grandchildren and the occasional adult needed a smile; a man of prayer when heaven was needed in this world. He was a man who laughed in the face of danger, well maybe not, but he did laugh a lot and he did it loudly. And above all else he was a Christian.
His memorial service will be held Saturday February 9, 2 pm. at Zion Reformed Church at 105 S. Ham Lane, Lodi, CA 95242. Memorial contributions in Rob's honor can be sent to Answers Church-Growth Fund, PO Box 982892, Elk Grove, CA 95758

Hello Dearest family and beloved friends,
I am sorry for the delayed messaged. I've been looking for Rob for many years and some how only now came across this beautiful and profound eulogy. I saw him at a salon many years ago and we reminisced of younger days.
Rob and I go back to our early 20's or maybe late teens; we'd listen to Queen, or Journey and sing along. I am so deeply and sincerely sorry for your loss. Rob was a great friend, and a super nice guy. Life takes people in different directions, but I've often fondly thought of Rob and wondered how he was doing.
It's so touching to know of his relationship with God; by all the amazing things said by family and friends, clients; he surrounded himself with not only good people, but surely raised some stellar children.
I know he continues to be proud. I don't know the circumstance of his passing, but hope he did not suffer. I can't imagine the empty space that was left behind. God bless all of you. RIP Dear Friend.

To the Goin family and specifically PJ. I am so sorry to hear of Robert's passing, my love and prayers to the entire family. I personally never knew Robert, but often heard PJ speak of him.
PJ I cannot imagine the grief and sorrow you are feeling right now, it is never easy for a parent to bury a child. I can only say that I am sorry for your loss, you have my love and condolences.

Rob was an exceptional individual. Sitting in his chair was to experience his enthusiasm, humor, love of life and his family. I never came away not feeling better than when I went in - plus I got a pretty good haircut. He died much too soon. My thoughts and prayers are sent to his family. Rob was and always will be family to me. He was my husband's barber, mentor, and best man at our wedding. He stood up with us when my children were dedicated to the Lord. He gave my son his first haircut and he attended my husband's celebration when he passed this October in 2012. Rob was a faithful husband, father, and friend. I'm glad I knew him, and can't wait to see him again one day... He has run his race well. I love you Rob! Tracy, I am standing with you and your family in prayer...How blessed you are to have enjoyed 30 years of marriage..

Having known Rob 18 years, we can never remember him greeting us without a smile and kind, positive words. Rob truly emulated the love of God to his family, his church, and his community. His integrity is a rare quality. We will miss him and look forward to celebrating with him in Heaven.
Tracy, we are confident that the grace of God will comfort and sustain you and your wonderful children and grandchildren. Your strength and courage have been an amazing testimony of God's love. You are in our prayers. We love you all.

Our deepest sympathies to Tracy and the whole family. Kiel, your words describing your dad will have everyone smiling and nodding their heads. He was truly a beautiful person to know and a blessing to many. Our first encounter with him was when he stepped forward to welcome us to Ascension Lutheran Church on our first visit there--and in doing so, also introduced us to you, Kiel.

A man's life is not measured by it's duration but by it's donation.
Rob helped shape my life to who I am today. He was a pillar of Harvest Bible Church from it's beginnings. Flashes of memories keep running through my mind of experiences that we had.
Bottom line, this world was better because He was a part of it.

To the entire Goin family and all of Rob's many friends...my heartfelt sympathies are with you all. My father's memorial was on Friday and I truely understand the loss and pain you are all feeling. But I am sure that Rob is in heaven enjoying the peace and love that comes from being with our heavenly father. Even though my dad and Rob did not know each other I bet they have already met in heaven!
I wish you all peace and comfort that you will find in your family and friends during this time and long after.
I did not know Rob well but had met him through Tracy ( who I knew from high school days ) and from Brian Swindler and Mike Padjen and Dave Williams and Melissa. I know that his passing will leave a void in the lives of all that knew him.
