Rose Marie Roy, beloved wife and mother, passed away December 20, 2012, after a 12 year battle with cancer, in the home of her eldest son Robert Roy in Sacramento, CA. at the age of 77. She was born to Caroline and George Hawkins Sr. on June 8th, 1935 in Beatrice, Nebraska, She then lived in Hanover, Kansas, until their family moved to California in 1941. Rose Marie graduated from Roseville High School in 1953. She attended Bethal Lutheran Church in Roseville where she was their pianist. She met her beloved husband Jesse Roy on a blind date through her younger sister who was dating Jesse's nephew at the time. She married Jesse, her only true love, on September 6, 1955 at Bethal Temple in Roseville, CA. She and Jesse had two sons, Robert and Vernon. She and Jesse enjoyed taking day trips to Carson City where they would play the slot machines and enjoy a nice dinner. She loved camping and fishing for trout with Jesse and family. She was also an avid bowler. Rose Marie is survived by her beloved husband, Jesse, of 57 years, her sons Robert and Vernon, sister Joann Butler, brother George Hawkins, and Aunt Eleanor Lambert. She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Rose Marie will be put to rest at Sacramento Memorial Lawn, 6100 Stockton Blvd. Sacramento, 95824. on Friday, December 28th, 2012 at 11:00 AM. There will also be a viewing on Thursday, December 27th 2012, from 4-8 PM.
