ONO, Roy Shingo
Born February 25, 1934, in Stockton, CA; passed away November 1, 2012, in an automobile accident at the age of 78. He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene and children. A wonderful father to Sandra Hembrey (Joe), Dean Ono, Rody Ono (Roxanne), Susan Hokama (Scott), Stacey Cook (Darryl) and Stan Ichiho (Jill). Roy had many loving brothers and sisters, Chester (Gloria) Nakai, Richard (Janet) Nakai, Kenji (Joyce) Nakai, and Akemi (Richard) Davidson. Roy was a loving grandfather to his grandchildren (18) and great-grandchildren (10). Predeceased by loving parents, Susumu George Ono & step-mother, May Ono; brother David Ono; and grandson, Russel Stephens. He was a retired Air Force and a Vietnam veteran. He served many locations around the world. Roy was an active member of the Shriners Oriental Band and Masonic Lodge. Roy's hobbies included hunting, outdoor sports, playing pool, watching sports and spoiling his dogs. He will be forever loved and missed by his family and all his many friends.
The funeral services will be held at the Sacramento Buddhist Church, 2401 Riverside Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95818 on November 8 at 2:00pm. Burial details will be announced at the funeral services.
