Sara Ann Wilson, 78, loving mother and grandmother, passed peacefully on April 9th, 2014. Mrs. Wilson was a Sacramento resident for seven decades. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and she relocated to Sacramento in the early 1940's. She was married to her best friend and loving husband, Eldon Lee Wilson for 49 years. Like her husband, she was an active member of First Christian Church. Sara served as the secretary for 15 years. She was committed to volunteering for families in need along with her position as treasurer for the Ladies Group. Sara's social life revolved around the friends she had met through church. She upheld traditional values and was devoted in raising a family and committing herself in the community. She was a phenomenal mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. Beloved by everyone, she will always be remembered for her love of baking and cooking, especially Italian cooking. Sara retired from Kaiser Permanente as a pharmacy clerk. She would joke that her life's work had been as a "drug dealer." Mrs. Wilson is predeceased by her husband, Eldon Wilson and daughter, Nancy Wilson. And is survived by her son: Mark Wilson, Grandson: Jacob Penner, and brother: Peter Riolo (Julie). She maintained an extremely close relationship with her daughter-in-law, Susan Durham-Wilson. Sara was loved by so many and will be truly missed. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, April 18th, 2014 at 11:00am. Services will be held at First Christian Church: 3901 Folsom Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95819. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers; please make donations to First Christian Church.
