AGAR, Timothy Scott
Aug. 23, 1960 - Dec. 19, 2012
Died peacefully surrounded by loved ones and listening to his favorite music, 70s classics and Allman Brothers ballads. The firstborn child to Rodney and Julianne Agar in New York, NY, Tim grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. He received his B.A. in English from Union College and graduated with honors from the Univ. of Arizona with a Masters degree in Journalism.
Tim was an avid outdoorsman who loved skiing, fishing, sailing, canoeing, hiking and dirt bike riding. He played soccer competitively from a young age through high school and college and into his 30s. He spent his summers growing up in the Berkshires of Massachusetts where he developed and nurtured a love for nature that continued throughout his life.
Tim became an accomplished business man, excelling in both of his chosen fields of journalism and sales.
He was a devoted father to his three children, Robbie, Anna and Katie, coaching all of them in soccer, teaching them to ski, and instilling in them his unique zest for life, sense of humor and love of the outdoors. There was nothing more important to him than his children, of whom he was fiercely protective and exceedingly proud.
He is preceded in death by his younger brother Robert, and both sets of grandparents.
Tim will always be remembered for his generous spirit, his devotion to his family and his friends and his desire and efforts to live life to the fullest.
In addition to his parents and children, Tim leaves his younger sister Julie Connors (Mike), brother Charles Agar (Autumn), nephews Patrick and Johnny, nieces Katie and Frances, aunts Eunice and Linda, uncle Paul and many cousins. He loved them all dearly. Tim's absence in the lives of all he touched will be felt deeply and eternally. Everyone who knew him has many great 'Tim stories' that will live on for generations to come.
A celebration of life will be held at Sudwerks in Folsom on Thursday December 27 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a memorial fund for the children. Information is provided at http://www.greenvalley mortuary.com/sitemaker/sites/greenv0/obit.cgi?user=853986Agar
