Virginia Parks Gifford Obituary

Virginia Parks Gifford passed away peacefully at her home on January 7, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born November 28, 1933 and adopted by Edwin E. and Irene G. Vance from Ashland, NE. On December 26, 1951, she married Charles L. Parks. Together they had four children. Cidney E., Bryce L., Brenda K. and Charlotte M. After they divorced in 1968 she had a brief marriage to Frank Comstock before marrying Harold Gifford on July 1, 1978 until his passing September 28, 2013. After moving to Citrus Heights, CA, from Ashland, NE in 1999, Virginia started teaching at Keyboard Kollege in Folsom, CA. Virginia was involved in playing for several musical groups at Oakview Village where she lived and as organist/pianist for Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Citrus Heights since 2004. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Irene Vance, her husband, Harold, children Cidney, Bryce and Brenda. She is survived by her daughter Charlotte (and Howard) Henderson of Sunnyvale, CA, grand-children Seth Henderson, Allana Moore, Adam and Austin Vestal, Delanie Booton, Jessica and Bryan Parks, cousins Michael and Melanie Vance, and Kathleen Hautzenroder. A memorial service was held at Lutheran Church of the Ascension at 7607 Garden Gate Dr., Citrus Heights, CA 95621 on January 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM.
