ALMANZA, Jr., Ysidro
Born on December 25, 1940 in Deming, New Mexico and passed away peacefully on September 23, 2013. (Sid) was a 50-year resident of Sacramento who loved more than anything spending time with his family. For over 30 years as a youth sports coach, he touched and influenced many lives. 'Mr. Almanza' was proud to have served as President of Grant Little League and Coach of Norte Del Rio High School Baseball. Most recently he enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in all sports and rarely missed a game. He was also an active member of the Immaculate Conception Holy Name Society.
Sid is survived by his 5 children, Robert (Carolyn), Hank (Lydia), Trey (Phyllis), Gil (Delilah), Marie (David); and three stepchildren, Becky, Eddie (Sonia) and Richard. He was Grandpa to 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Dad, we love you and thank you for being the best father, grandfather and great-grandfather we could have asked for. You will forever be part of our souls. We will think of you always, miss you daily, and cherish the time we had with you. The beautiful memories you gave us will stay close to our hearts forever. Visitation will be Thursday, September 26, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm at George L. Klumpp Chapel of Flowers, 2691 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento CA 95818. Funeral Mass will be Friday September 27, 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception, 3263 1st Ave., Sacramento CA 95817.
