NGUYEN, Tien Truong
Beloved husband & father died at the age of 45 on Nov. 26, 2011 after a courageous fight with cancer. Born Nov. 17, 1966 in Long Xuyen, Viet Nam, he is survived by his wife Diane Nguyen; children, Alexandra Vy & Brian Khoa; father, Truong The Nguyen; brother Tue, his wife & children; & sister Katherine & children. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nghia Thi Nguyen. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family, friends, and co-workers from the County of Sacramento.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, Sat., Dec. 3, 2011 at East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624 916-732-2031. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Buddhist Temple, Chua Huyen Giac, 5210 58th St, Sacramento, CA 95820

Hi my brother, we had Thanksgiving dinner tonight at my house as usual and I missed you a lots. I wish you were here with me so we can enjoys all the good foods and all the red wines together, after all I realize I still missed you and loves you just like yesterday. Anh, do you remember that you promised to wait for me till the day my golf score beats yours? My score is still way far from yours, but you already left ?
It's so hard to say goodbye to you. All I could do was broke down & cried. Now I know how hard for you to fight with the pain of cancer, how hard you tried not to scare about the death, how hard you tried to smile to make your kids and your family not to worry about your leaving. It was so hard, right? Time is up, and you did a great job for all. Now, it's time for you to rest in peace and begin the new journey.
Take good care of your self. And don't forget to play golf in there okay? You know, my score is better day-by-day and don't let me beat you too fast.
Thanks for the laugh, the good memories, the support, even the tears we shared together. Thanks for being a great big brother to NK & I. We both learnt so much from you.

Throughout the years I spent with you, you have brought out the best in me. You treated me with kindness, respect, and most importantly like family. I will miss all the Saturdays golfing with you, giving you a hard time about your unorthodox (but accurate) swing; and mocking you about the yellow golf balls. You were my enemy on the golf course; but deep down I just wanted to beat the best. I have been privilege to have been one of your buddies. I will truly miss you. Your time with us is too short, though you have made a big difference in lives.

I am glad to have known Tien aka Phe from his website. I have felt blessed to have Tien as a friend. He was very kind, willing to help everyone in everything and very generous in charity work. Word do an injustice in explaining how much we will miss anh Tien. He will remain very alive in our memories and admiration. No one will ever be able to replace him as he is really special to all of us.

I worked with Tien at the Dept of Health Services in the 1990s and hadn't seen him for the past 13 years. I just found out about his passing this afternoon and am saddened to hear about it. Safe passage to Nirvana Tien.

Tien always greeted me by name whenever we would meet in the hall. I did not work with him but always appreciated his friendly greeting.
I did not know that he was fighting cancer and his passing was so unexpected.
He was always friendly to me and my thoughts and prayers will certainly be with your family.

I learnt of the bad news on Tuesday 29/11 Australian time, it is now Thursday. For two days I did not want to believe it, I could not cry, but now seeing this guest book and your photo, I could not hold back my tears. I am so regretful that I did not make any attempt to call you.
I remember the first time I spoke to you, I said: " oh, anh la ca go bo go no kieu got got thiet ha ? " you laughed: " yeah, ca go bo go thiet " and you were wondering why my writing was such " bac ky " but I did not sound like one.
And I remember you put on a clip: " can't you hear, can't you hear me thunder? you better run, you better take cover." and said you used to listen to Men at work when you learnt that I came from the land down under ...
