RAVEL, Gary Steven
Gary Steven Ravel of Sacramento, California passed away peacefully on May 9, 2012 with his family and close friends at his side. Gary was born on September 27th, 1949 in Albuquerque, New Mexico - the oldest son of Allan and Hannah Ravel. He is survived by his two children Marissa and Aaron and his three brothers Michael, Richard (Susan), and Scott (Betty) and 2 nieces and 3 nephews.

Gary was an art and music lover. His interests spanned: fine cuisine, collecting fine art, photography, architecture, travel, playing guitar, and was an avid sports enthusiast always loyal and endorsing his home team.

A graduate of UC Berkeley, Gary began a career in special education teaching autistic children. He parlayed his commitment to serving his community into a long and successful career in commercial real estate. His current business endeavor is Ravel Rasmussen Properties - a Sacramento based real estate development and acquisition partnership of Gary Ravel and R. Scott Rasmussen.

Gary considered Sacramento his home and was a major contributor involved in fund-raising for the community. His philanthropic donations and generosity continue to benefit his home town. He served on the board of Sutter Medical Center Foundation. He was a founding member and served on the board of The Bank of Sacramento. He was also a founding member of the Sacramento Building Owners And Managers Association.

The funeral services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 at: 11:00 am at Home Of Peace Cemetery Chapel. 6200 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento. Immediately following the serivces, there will be a gathering at Gary's home. Lombard and Company. Sacramento, California
