Shirley Ann O'Connell of El Dorado Hills passed away on May 29th. She was born December 10, 1935 in Antigo Wisconsin to Pearl and Reginald (Dick) Moreton. As a young child she moved to McKeesport, PA where she graduated from high school in 1953. She attended Allegheny College where she was a member of KAPPA ALPHA THETA and graduated in 1957. In 1958 she married Alex O'Connell who had also graduated from Allegheny, class of 1954. For Most of his career Mr. O'Connell was employed in the aerospace industry during which time they lived in Colorado, Florida, England and California, eventually they retired in El Dorado Hills where they have lived for the past 20 years. She was an ardent bridge player, a golfer, and a library volunteer. She is survived by her husband, Alex, of 54 years, her mother Pearl McCune of Bradford PA, her sister Beverly (Bruce) Perry, also of Bradford, two sons Scott (Daune) O'Connell of Greenwood Village CO, David (Karen) O'Connell of Gladwyne, PA, and one Daughter Kim (Jeff) Canfield of Bellvue CO. There will be no formal service. In her memory friends and relatives are invited in an informal gathering at her home from 4-7 PM Saturday June 2nd.
