FUENTES, Rafael C.
Died on 05-29-12 at the age of 87 at his home in Woodland, CA. Born on 10/24/24 in Valle De Santiago, Guanajuato, Mexico. 'Don Rafa,' as he was known, lived in Woodland for over 70 yrs. Worked for Louis Leonard and Adams Grain, then in 1961 joined Hunt-Wesson Foods for 30 yrs. until 1989. Although retired, he was active in his rental properties and helping his son Ralph with Ralph Fuentes Landscaping. An avid sports fan, he loved professional boxing, baseball, and soccer. He was a hard-working, fun-loving, no nonsense, dedicated man that everyone could rely on. He enjoyed the outdoors, his family, and the simplicity of life. He will be remembered for his strength, dignity, sense of humor, honesty, and integrity. Preceded in death by his parents, brother,and two sisters. Survived by his 8 children, Gloria Fuentes Rubio, Sara Fuentes Ramos, Rafael Fuentes, Jose Maria Fuentes, Irma Fuentes Bustillo, Ralph J. Fuentes, Linda Fuentes Brida, and Lupe Fuentes. Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by Victoria Cordova and step-children Stella Wilson, Cecilia Coronado, Jim Zuniga, and Helen Zuniga. Rosary on Tues. 6/5/12 at 7pm at Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut Street, Woodland, CA. Services on Wed. 6/6/12 at 10:30 am at Holy Rosary Church. McNary's Chapel is assisting family with funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rafael's memory to UC Davis Hospice, 3630 Business Drive, Sacramento CA 95820.
