
LISTELLA, Guido Mario
Surrounded by his family, Guido Mario Listella passed away in Salem, Oregon on May 3, 2012, at the age of 83. Born in Akron, Ohio to Luco and Grace Listella.
Guido graduated from Akron University with a Master's of Psychology in 1954. Beginning in 1948, he served in the Ohio National Guard and during the Korean War was called to active duty and served in Japan as a Staff Sergeant. Guido moved to Salem, Oregon in 1955 where he met and married Roberta Hamlin in 1956. Guido worked at Prigg Cottage and Fairview Training Center in Salem as a Clinical Psychologist and Unit Director. He retired in 1989 after 33 years of service. Guido taught Psychology for 30 years at Chemeketa Community College and 5 years at Linn-Benton Community College. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church for 56 years.
Guido was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all.
Guido is survived by Roberta, his wife of 55 years; his sister Mary Listella (Sacramento, CA); son Ric and Debbie Listella; daughters Lisa and Roger Bendel, and Lori and Chase Clark, all of Salem; and 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Guido was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 16, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church in Salem, Oregon.
