TRIPLETT, Joseph S.
Joe Triplett was born in Oakland, Ca on January 20, 1926 and passed away on May 4, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Joe is predeceased by his wife Mary and his daughter Joanne.
Joe is survived by his three sons, Thomas, Timothy, and James; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, which he loved and cherished.
Joe spent over thirty years working for the Department of Defense, first for the Navy and then the Air Force at Travis and McClellan Air Bases. He began his career as a photographer and ended as a Management Analyst. He was one of the first in the nation to enter the world of Information Technology as a programmer.
In the 1950s Joe took up the game of golf, a game he taught to all of his sons, which began a lifetime of fun and enjoyment. It was said that some of his best days were the days he spent on the golf course with his friends from SIRS. As a member of SIRS he served as the Handicap Chairman and President.
In 1962 the family moved to Carmichael, Ca and joined the parish at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. During the ensuing years Joe was very active first in local church activities and later as a parish representative to many Sacramento diocese committees. Joe was a life long member of the Knights of Columbus.
In their later years Joe and Mary lived at Lake View Village where Joe was the Village Manager and the President of the community association. Many a night Joe would answer a call from a resident requesting aid or assistance.
All his life Joe possessed a great sense of humor who loved the telling of a joke or story. His friends will remember often how he would start a sentence with the terms "Have I told you the one about...'
A Memorial Mass will be held on June 16th at St. John the Evangelist Church, 5751 Locust Ave, Carmichael, Ca; commencing at 11 am. A grave site service will follow the mass at Calvary Catholic Cemetery 7101 Verner Ave Sacramento, Ca 95841.
