
HIRONAKA, Mitsuji 'Swiss'
Passed away on June 8, 2012 at the age of 97 in Sacramento, CA. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Tokie; loving daughters, Joan Hironaka, Janet Okino (Bob) and Joyce Lee (Ron), grandchildren, Adrian and Ryan Cayabyab, Kristine and Kevin Okino (Pam), Heather and Brandon Lee and great-grandchild, Tymiko; sisters Tayeko (George) Ogawa, Teruko Carol (Jim) Matsui; brother/sisters-in-law, Rose Hironaka, Yukio Sumida, Sue Sumida, Nancy Sato and Momoye Charno and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Mitsuji was preceded in death by his parents Kiyoichi and Satsu Hironaka, brothers Yoshito, Moriyuki, Kuni and Tsutomu Hironaka and sister Yukie (Yoshito) Koshimizu.
He spent over 25 years farming on the Hironaka Brothers Farm located at Folsom and Bradshaw. After the farm was sold in 1972, Mitsuji and Tokie continued working another 28 years as highly respected landscapers. He enjoyed poker sessions with his family and friends, golfing, fishing and attending boxing fights.
He will be remembered for his warm and friendly smile and love for his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento, 2401 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento, CA.
