Our beloved friend and family member, Dianne Bettis, left this life on June 10, 2012 to continue her journey. She was born January 22, 1940 in a small town in Utah to Blanche and Jack Fitzwater. When her mother remarried, Dianne was adopted by her stepfather, Norman Asmus, whom she adored and called daddy. Dianne was a force of nature and a Renaissance woman. Her four decades teaching English in the public high schools left a profound influence on her students and colleagues. Her pursuit of excellence and high standards inspired all who worked with her. Her loyalty, generosity, and intelligence will be sorely missed by her intimate friends. She leaves behind her beloved dog, Will, countless students, and a myriad of friends and extended family. A service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 14th, at East Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, CA., 95841. A reception will be held after the service at the home of Linda Dixon.
