SCHLENKER, David James
Born February 12, 1934 in Goodrich, ND, passed on peacefully May 22, 2012 in Sacramento surrounded by his loving family. As a child, his family moved west, stopping briefly in Idaho before settling in Rio Linda. David graduated from Grant Union High School and served in the Navy, stationed in the Philippines. He was a court reporter and moved his family to Chico, ultimately owning the deposition firms Duensing & Schlenker and Chico Deposition Reporters. A man devoted to the Lord & family, Dave is survived by his wife of 51 years, Coralie, son Eric (Shelly) & grandchildren, Max, Kate & Sam, brother Richard of PA & sister Joyce of WA and AZ. Preceded in death by parents Edmund Ernest Daniel Schlenker & Maybelle (Okeson) Schlenker, stepmother Lena Schlenker & brothers Donald & Walter. A volunteer for YMCA, California Court Reporters Assn, Faith Lutheran Church, College Glen Neighborhood Assn. A member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd for 30 years. A celebration of his life will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1615 Morse Avenue (at Arden Way) on June 23, 2012 at 10 am. Reception following in Gold River. Remembrances may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd - Building Fund.
