
EGAN, Antoinette S.
Passed away on June 17, 2012 at the age of 101. She was born on August 22, 1910 to Frances and Angelo Schenone in Livermore, CA. Mrs. Egan, an eighth generation Californian was raised on Las Positas Rancho. She attended Holy Names College in Oakland, and received her teaching credential at San Francisco State College. She married Thomas L. Egan and was a homemaker before returning to teaching. She taught fifth grade and Spanish at Starr King School in Carmichael. She is survived by her four children: Mary Parker, Thomas Egan, Antoinette O'Brien and Stephen Egan as well as seven grandchildren, Geoffrey Moon, Jennifer O'Brien Cooley, Daniel O'Brien, Megan Hohlbein, Sean Egan, Conor Egan and Patrick Egan. She is also survived by two great grandsons: Aiden and Declan Cooley. In retirement Mrs. Egan enjoyed translating historical Spanish documents, researching genealogy, and gardening. Among Mrs. Egan's affiliations were the American Association of University Women, Los Californianos, and Sacred Heart Church and Altar Society. Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 39 & J Streets, Sacramento on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10 am. The family requests that remembrances be made to the Sacred Heart Parish or Altar Society 1040 39th Street, Sacramento, CA 95616.
