ENES, Alfred Paul
Born on August 11, 1934, in St. Bernard, Ohio, to Joseph and Cecelia Enes. He passed away peacefully on June 11, 2012. As a young man, his family moved from Ohio to Sacramento, California. After graduating from Sacramento High School, he went to work at Procter and Gamble for a brief period. After a few months he joined the United States Marine Corps in order to 'see the world.' He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps with the rank of Sergeant on January 25, 1958. Upon leaving the Marine Corps, he returned to work at Procter and Gamble and married Linda Hale in April of 1958. He remained at Procter and Gamble for 40 years until his retirement. Upon his retirement, Al and Linda began traveling the United States. Some time after the passing of his wife, he then began traveling the world with his childhood companion, Alice McDonald. Alfred is survived by his four loving children: Michael Enes and wife Anita, Mark Enes and wife Kristin, Cynthia Compton and husband Alan, Eric Enes and wife Laura, as well as grandchildren: Alex and Samantha Compton, Rachel, Rebecca, and Daniel Enes; Lillian, Abigail, Camille, and Violet Enes; and Drew Enes; siblings Rose Kokaisl, Agnes Byrom, Joana Sheere, and Richard Enes. He was preceded in death by brother Donald Enes and parents Joseph and Cecelia Enes. A memorial service is to be held Saturday, June 23, 2012, 10AM at PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (6335 Sunrise Blvd. Citrus Heights, 725-2109). A reception is to follow the service.
