HILL, Florence
Passed away peacefully on June 21, 2012 at the age of 90 surrounded by her loving family. She was one of six children, born on Oct 28, 1921 in the township of Mckinley, Minn.
Florence is survived by her two daughters, Janice Martinez and Karen Chenoweth. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Earl of 56 years and son Edward. She was a devoted wife and loving grandmother and great-grandmother to many grandchildren.
During World War II she worked at a general store pumping gas. In the summer time Florence and her husband spent their summer's working at Yellowstone Park. Mom worked for many charities helping the homeless and poor. She was also a quilt maker. She enjoyed the family reunions with family, especially when music was played by family members with their banjo's, fiddle's, harmonica's and guitar's blazing away. And when ever mom was at our house, her day was not complete unless she heard her daughter Jan play the piano. She enjoyed listening to those good ole songs.
She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family. Mom could fill a room with laughter and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed her knitting very much and having family conversations. Her biggest joy was watching her grandchildren grow and doing those things that make grandma's laugh. Mom will be remembered for her sweet smile, laugh and love of telling stories when she was a youngster. So We leave you mom with much love in the Spiritual grace and eternal light of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Church services will be at 11:00 am at Christ the King Lutheran church located at 5811 Walnut Ave in Orangevale, Ca. on Tuesday 6-26-12 and a graveside service to be held at Lakeside Memorial Cemetery at the corner of Folsom Blvd and Natomas street in Folsom.
