Bob passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on July 1, 2012. Born in Pomeroy Washington, Bob was the second of Rozella and Sam Sparkman's four children. Bob graduated from high school in 1933 and worked at his dad's barber shop before heading off to WWII. After serving three years in the army at camp Beale, he took a job as a milkman in Sacramento. Within a matter of months he met the love of his life Betty Jean Parker. They married and were together for 64 loving years. His passions were baseball and golf and he earned his seventh hole in one at the age 90. Bob is survived by his children Roberta and Gregg and his grandchildren Amanda and Gregg Jr. Betty predeceased Bob on January 23, 2011. Bob was a decent and kind man. He cared for the quality of life for all children around the world and adopted two of the luckiest children. He was a devoted husband, taking care of his wife until her end. He worked his crossword puzzles, and practiced his golf swing until his last days. His deep love for friends and family alike will always be remembered. A memorial will be held on Monday, July 9th 2012 at Mt. Vernon Mortuary. Donations can be made to in his name.
