HAYASHIDA, Diane Haruko
Born in Hoten, Manchuria on May 9, 1930 and entered Nirvana on June 23, 2012. Diane attended school in Tsu City, Japan and immigrated to the United States in 1951.
She settled in Sacramento and worked at Tom's Coffee Shop, Governor's Grill, and Edward's Drapery. During that time she met the love of her life, Art. They were married in 1956, remained in Sacramento, raised four children, and were together for over 55 years. Her children include Michael (wife Joann), Rickey (wife Cindi), David, and Kathy. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Samantha Williams, Bryan Hayashida, Mario Hayashida, Kosei Hayashida, Bryce Mar, and Brianna Mar.
Diane was very artistic and loved everything about Japanese culture. She was a talented seamstress and floral arranger. As an instructor, she taught Omotesenke Tea Ceremony and Ikenobo Floral Arranging. One of her greatest joys was traveling to Japan for inspiration and a little shopping.
A private funeral was held on Sunday, July 8, 2012. Memorials can be made to the Sacramento Buddhist Church, 2401 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95818.
